I'm curious to hear the stories of what you think was your luckiest wild Pokémon capture ever.
I just caught a Dragonite 2804 CP (lv29) using Pinap Berry (all or nothing, that's how it's gotta be!) with a critical capture. Of over 50,000 captures and throughout these 39.9 levels, this was definitely the luckiest one...

My luckiest would be a time, not a specific catch and has to be the Valentines event.
My neighbourhood was flooded with the big beautiful pink lady...and I made the most of it.
The first morning of the event, I went for my usual early morning walk of about 1.5kms and came home with 6 Chansey - including a lvl28 93% IV (perfect att and def stats).
From that moment on, I knew the event was going to be kind to me.
Lol Dragonite close to game launch. I was at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for Americans and turned on my game and it was there. I knew there were other players and there was no tracker so I yelled Dragonite. Some people looked at me like I was looney, and others came running w/ their phones. I've had other fun catches along the way, but almost causing a stampede was one of the highlights of the game for me.
Haha funny story. DMVs usually are full of looney people so your outburst probably wasn't out of the ordinary.
Last summer was fun playing pogo. I used to go to a park that was a Mecca in my area for pokemons. Hundreds of people would be there causing a wave of people running back and forth. Getting runned over in a stampede was a real possibility
I'd say "luckiest" was a level 30, 77% IV, CP ~2470* Lapras with IS/B. Prior to that, my main Dragonite attacker was a CP 2100 Cloyster with the same moveset, so the Lapras slotted right into my "A" team, and he actually brought candy & dust with him, as opposed to costing me.
*Pre-nerf. He is now at CP 2133, so no longer really has a dual use as a defender. Next luckiest was probably a level 30, 62% IV, CP 2600 Vaporeon with WG/AT.
Two other favorites are a CP 1136 Charizard, and a CP 773 Chansey, but I wouldn't consider them lucky, because I worked extremely hard for them. The Charizard was during the New Year starter event, and I had caught a few wild Blastoises and Venusaurs early on, but a wild Charizard eluded me. I went out every night of the event specifically to hunt Charizard, and finally got one on the last night.
The Chansey was during the Valentine's event, and even then, they were still very rare around here. It was the last pokemon I needed for my gen 1 pokedex. I hunted for dozens of hours during that week, usually ignoring all other pokemon while I foucused on finding a Chansey. On the second-last night, when I was close to giving up for the night, I finally encountered the CP 773 one, and after catching him, found another lower CP Chansey about 100 yards away in the same parking lot. Both had IV's in the 30% range, but to me, catching a 30% Chansey in the wild was better than hatching an 80% one.
