App tracking service Sensor Tower has recently come out with a report that shows Pokemon GO's lifetime gross revenue, which has crossed the unbelievably large $3 billion milestone. This 10-digit revenue comes after the game has been downloaded about 541 million times worldwide.
It hasn't been a record year for Pokemon GO by the numbers; the biggest earning year for the game was still the year it launched, at a whopping $832 million for 2016. The second-highest year was 2018 with $816 million. With two months left in the year, it stands to reason that 2019 could catch up to either of those numbers. After all, September did account for $126 million in revenue, accounting for over 15% of the revenue for the year.
September 2019 was a monumental time for Pokemon GO; the release of shiny regional Pokemon, shiny legendary dogs, shiny Mewtwo, and the advent of Unova Pokemon brought people back into the game in droves. October 2019 only saw about $67 million in revenue earned, a little over half the previous month.
