100k Adventure Sync Rewards
On Wednesday, October 23, the dataminers at @Pokeminers discovered something very interesting; along with the existing 5km, 25km, and 50km rewards for weekly Adveture Sync goals, Niantic very quietly added a new, invisible tier: 100km.
Niantic has a tendency to quietly add quality of life updates from time to time, and it seems that they've done so again. Given the data, here are the rewards that you can now expect at the end of every weekly Adventure Sync cycle:
Distance | Reward |
---|---|
5km | 20 Poke Ball |
25km | 5km rewards, 10 Great Ball, 1000 Stardust, 3 Rare Candy or 3 Silver Pinap or 1 5km Egg |
50km | 5km rewards, 25km rewards, 5 Ultra Ball, 5000 Stardust, 5 Rare Candy or 5 Silver Pinap or 1 5km/10km Egg |
100km | 5km rewards, 25km rewards, 50km rewards, 16,000 Stardust |
Please note that the 100k tier is currently invisible. You cannot see it alongside the other rewards if you look at your trainer dtails, but it seems that it does indeed exist regardless. To read more about the Adventure Sync feature, please visit our guide:
Reaching 100km
For those of us in countries that don't prioritize the Metric system, here is how the goals for Adventure Sync translate:
Distance in KM | Distance in Miles |
---|---|
5 | 3.107 |
25 | 15.534 |
50 | 31.069 |
100 | 62.137 |
That is quite a bit of distance for most of us to complete in an average week. Given an average walk speed of 3 miles per hour, the 100k goal requires roughly 21 hours of walking per week, or 3 hours per day. Because that's quite a demand for many players, here are a few ideas to help reach these goals:
Keep Pokemon Go Closed and Adventure Sync active When Not Playing
Even walking around your house over the course of an average day or doing mild leg-work at the office, it's possible to rack up distance that will help reach your goal. Just remember that Adventure Sync works best if the game is closed, so don't have it in the background while you're not actively playing.
Get Some Help From Friends and Family
Have friends or family that you trust? Are they going out for a while? Get everything ready and then ask them to take your phone along for the ride! You can get some distance while you're working on other projects.
Give Your Wrist a Workout
Many people already do this, but you can fool the Adventure Sync by rocking your phone in your hand. This is not a terribly efficient way to gain distance, but every little bit helps if you have nothing better to do.
Take Pokemon Go on Your Errands
This sort of ties in with the first point, but I can't say how many times I've opened Pokemon Go after driving on my weekly errands only to find that I've randomly hatched an egg despite never walking more than a few steps. While it doesn't rack up much distance, slow driving can give you bits and pieces toward your final goal.
Pledge to Become More Active
This is sort of what Niantic is getting at with this update; begin walking more, hit your local gym to spend daily time on the treadmill, just become the more active Pokemon Go player that Niantic has been encouraging you to be since the release of Pokemon Go. Your Stardust bank will thank you, and so will your body!
