Why isn't Typhlosion's best defense move Solar Beam? It provides almost 100% good type coverages.

I evolved a FA/SoB Ninetales, and was going to send it to the Professor, and then realised that for PvP it may provide a bit of a surprise to someone - so I kept it. As a defender I can't see it doing very well...but if PvP becomes a thing it might be fun.

I would say that a Typhosion with SoB might be better in the same niche of PvP, more so than a gym defender.

Probably because it will not be fired before it faints in most of the cases.

Later exit: no so, since that will be the case with overheat and fireblast too. Overheat with STAB is just a bit less damaging than Solar beam with Supper effectiveness and as you know STAB is alwYs on while super effective bonus only in sprcial cases. In SoB cases in all relevant cades: water, rick, ground, so yes, I also think SoB is better for defence in Ty case :). But on the other hand I will not rate defensevly this mon, is weak no mattet what move...

Five second cast time, very telegraphed with a fairly late dodge window. Will never hit. To be fair all of Typhlosion's charge moves are absolutely terrible, they are all super easy to dodge full bar moves on a mon of average bulk. If he's lucky enough to get one off it will be dodged anyways.
