New "Event" Involving Team Rocket
At Midnight Eastern Standard Time on July 28, 2019, Team GO Rocket took over the official Pokemon GO Twitter account and posted several interesting tweets regarding the Team GO Rocket event that has taken over the game.
To go along with the Team GO Rocket takeover, advertisements all over New York City were "vandalized" by Team GO Rocket members. Players also got to see every PokeStop in their local timezone change to a Team Rocket PokeStop between 4 and 5 pm on Sunday, June 28th.

SUP, TWERPS! 👋 While all of you were distracted with the little stunt that we pulled in New York, we mobilized our forces for a GLOBAL TEAM GO ROCKET INVASION! From 4 to 5 p.m. in your local time, we’ll be taking over ALL the PokéStops in your area. Teehee. 🙃 #TeamGORocket pic.twitter.com/7KZ6HFS3jD

The Team GO Rocket hot air balloon also made a few "appearances" all over the world via their Twitter feed.
At the end of the takeover, an ominous tweet was sent out by "G", with a silhouette of what appears to be Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket in the main series games.
We hope you enjoyed your taste of Team GO Rocket and our power, fools. We’ve had our fun, but we got what we needed. You can have your precious social channels back...for now. —G pic.twitter.com/lGv0jAZMKB

Even today, on July 29, 2019, a new tweet was sent that just said "soon". The emoji choice surrounding the letters may allude to the Supermoon event taking place on July 31st, the same day that Armored Mewtwo leaves raids.
Stay tuned for more details.
