93IV Larvitar hatched asset or liability
I just hatched a 93Iv Larvitar 15/14/13 it is my first and only that I have seen so I only have 16 candies for it. Do I just get to walking? 545k just to evolve then many more to power up. or keep working on my Chancy to Blissy conversions. I am level 32 and have a good selection of both attackers and defenders so neither is a must.

I have a similar Larvitar I got on the second day of Gen 2. So far i'm up to 44 candy so a long way to go but I'm just thrilled to finally have a chance for a top tier mon. I have never hatched a Snolax and Dratini are not available in my biome. Therefore I have been relying on Vaporeans and Rhydons for most of my gym action. Finally got the candy to evolve my first Gyarados but got Twister :(
I did. It didn't take near as long as I thought it would since Larvitar seem to be about one of every ten of my 10K eggs. In the time that I hatched 6 Larvitar I hatched only one Mareep and Lapras. It's not as rare as Lapras, Snorlax, and Dratini seemed to me were when I started.
I know this, I'm never buddying a Dratini again.
I would keep it, but not walk it unless there was nothing else more useful I could walk - save up candies from hatches and catches until you get it.
A blissey takes fewer candies, so less walking distance, and is better. Tyranitar is a decent attacker, and a passable defender. Blissey is an metagame-defining monster on defense; two snorlaxes stacked ontop of eachother. There are so many good attacking options, it's hard to justify such a huge walking expenditure for something that only shines on offense; a godly defender like blissey is an easy choice.
