Overview
Mega Medicham is not a terribly difficult raid to complete. Its main difficulty come from its limited weakness profile and potentially dangerous moveset, but both are fairly easy to circumnavigate for the most part. It also has a number of counters that hit well within duo-level DPS while also lasting a very long time on the field. Overall, this should be a pretty manageable duo.
Approach
Team composition
-
Flying, Ghost, and Fairy Types are the key to success
-
Flying Types tend to be a bit glassy, but high on the DPS chart
-
Ghosts tend to have a stronger average resistance set thanks to their double-resistance to Fighting Type moves, and are very solid overall.
-
Fairy Types have very high average performance, but tend to be fairly rare.
-
Battling strategy
- Evasion generally won't be necessary if you're packing a resistance to Mega Medicham's Charged Move, but it can be helpful at times as most top counters have DPS to spare.
Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.

If a Raid Boss is weak to Ghost, rest assured that Mega Gengar will be at or near the top of any raid guide.
Once again, it's hard too overstate just how strong Mega Gengar really is. The combo of an outstanding Attack type and a great moveset really does a lot for a Pokemon on the raid-front. In this raid in particular, Mega Gengar triple-resists literally half of Mega Medicham's moveset, doesn't really care about Psycho Cut despite being weak to it due to the attack's low power, and only really fears Psychic. It's hard to go wrong with this haunting phantom!
- Weaknesses: Psycho Cut, Psychic
- Strengths: Counter (3x), Dynamic Punch (3x), Power-Up Punch (3x)

Mega Gardevoir can't hit Mega Gengar's sheer power, but it doesn't need to. It still has an outstanding DPS, but supports that with a double-resistance to Fighting Type movesets and a single resistance to Psychic Type movesets. The only move that Mega Gardevoir doesn't resist is Ice Punch, and it can power through that pretty well regardless. The one and only issue with Mega Gardevoir is the fact that it boosts Fairy Types while active, which aren't super-common.

- Strengths: Counter (2x), Psycho Cut, Psychic, Dynamic Punch (2x), Power-Up Punch (2x)

If your raid group is leaning heavily into Flying Type counters, then Mega Pidgeot is the way to go. It has a strong overall performance that does the job. However, if you're not boosting other players as your main goal with a Mega Evolution, then Mega Pidgeot is best utilized as a budget Mega or a Windy weather counter. The fact that it does not resist Fighting Type moves and has a weakness to Ice Punch can be a bit painful, which can make life a bit rough depending on the moveset. Still, Mega Pidgeot is not bad by any means, and can be a solid pick for some quick DPS.

Baby Mega Gengar. Doesn't triple-resist Fighting, but it also isn't weak to Psychic. In the end, it's still a very solid choice.

Psycho Cut | Shadow Ball | Best |
Strong due to its high base Attack and access to Shadow Ball, Mega Alakazam works here not only for those reasons, but its resistance to Fighting and Psychic Type moves. Its Mega Boost is basically worthless here, but it's still a great backup Mega.

- Strengths: Counter, Psycho Cut, Psychic, Dynamic Punch, Power-Up Punch

Shadow Moltres fears nothing that Mega Medicam can possibly do to it. It has no weaknesses among Mega Medicham's moveset options, resists Fighting Type damage, and strikes back hard with outstanding Flying Type damage. This monster is one of the gold-standards for this raid, to be sure.
- Weaknesses: -
- Strengths: Counter, Dynamic Punch, Power-Up Punch

Psycho Cut | Shadow Ball | Best |
The return of one of the old-fashioned Ghost Type attackers in its strongest form (currently), Shadow Mewtwo resists most of what Mega Medicham can throw at it, which compliments its traditionally high DPS with outstanding TDO as well. Another top counter to be certain.

- Strengths: Counter, Psycho Cut, Psychic, Dynamic Punch, Power-Up Punch

While a bit of a rarity for most trainers, Shadow Gardevoir pulls the same advantages that Mega Gardevoir has in to pose a major threat to Mega Medicham. In fact, a team comprising Mega Gardevoir Shadow Gardevoir on the other player's team will tend to have some amazing overall performance.

- Strengths: Counter (2x), Psycho Cut, Psychic, Dynamic Punch (2x), Power-Up Punch (2x)

The original Ghost, Gengar has a great overall presence here thanks to the same advantages that make Mega Gengar amazing... only to a slightly lesser extent

Shadow Ho-oh is legitimately great in this raid thanks to having the same competencies as Shadow Moltres but with a higher emphasis on TDO while still sporting duo-worthy DPS. Just note that it's only good if it gets one of the only two Hidden Power types that are Super Effective here... and before you ask, Hidden Power Fairy doesn't exist.

- Strengths: Counter, Dynamic Punch, Power-Up Punch

The traditional juggernaut of Ghost TDO, Giratina can last a very long time and keep up great DPS. Just note that it doesn't really appreciate Ice Punch.

Another strong counter to Fighting Type moves, Chandelure also has the advantage against Ice Punch thanks to its Fire typing, making it a solid counter to most movesets.

Hoopa's Confined formes sports one of the best possible typings for this raid, as it triple-resists Fighting Type moves like Gengar, but also resists Psychic Type moves as well. It's a bit low on the DPS spectrum, but it's still very much worth considering,

Hoopa - Unbound is basically its Confined forme... but worse. Its typing gives it a triple resistance to Psychic Type moves, but also leaves it taking neutral damage from Psychic Type movesets, meaning its average TDO is substantially lower than Confined. And to top that off, its loss of a Ghost Type STAB means that its DPS is almost identical to Hoopa - Confined despite having a substantially higher Attack stat.
Unless you need something that strictly counters Psychic Type movesets, transform your Hoopa back to its Confined forme for this raid.

Lunala takes Hoopa - Confined Forme's typing and weaponizes it. No, this lunar monster doesn't quite have the same DPS, but it's still Duo-worthy, and it has the highest average TDO of any Pokemon in this raid. If you need an anchor, look no farther than this monster.
