Overview
Mega Houndoom hits like a truck, simply put. Its attacks tend to be fairly threatening, making even Pokemon that resist it fall realatively fast. While the DPS of many Pokemon can easily hit Duo level, there is an issue with keeping teams alive through Mega Houndoom's onslaught. A successful shortman for this raid requires a solid mix of DPS and TDO options, though a boosting weather, of which several exist, can make the duo fairly easy to pull off.
Approach
Team composition
-
A proper mix of DPS and TDO options is key to running the short-man raid.
-
The difficulty of this raid can vary greatly based on what moveset Mega Houndoom is packing, so be sure to pick your team accordingly.
-
Mega Blastoise is outstanding, and makes Water Types extremely viable.
-
Shadow Tyranitar is the perfect mix of DPS and TDO.
-
Glass Cannons should be front-loaded to maximize DPS.
-
Many common Pokemon such as Machamp and Smack Down Tyranitar are viable picks as well.
Dodging strategy
-
Dodging is definitely a good idea, though attempting to consistently dodge Crunch can lead to significant DPS drops.
Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
