The Lunar New Year is upon us, and as we've come to expect of Niantic, we have a celebration centered around it. While it's a bit sparse for content, we do have a few potentially useful bonuses that make the event worth playing.

- This effect starts on January 31 and ends on February 8.
- 2x Stardust from opening gifts
- Specific Pokemon will spawn more frequently in the wild
- Among them, Litleo will have its shiny forme released
- A special selection of Pokemon will be available via raids
- A specific selection of Pokemon will hatch from 7km eggs collected during the event period
- Specific Pokemon will be available via field research tasks
- Mega Gyarados Energy will also be available
- Timed research will be available that rewards Litleo and Espurr
