2023 is just about over, and soon 2024 will be here. As one of the first bonuses of the year, Niantic has announced a new paid ticket for players to pick up for bonuses that goes by the name of "The Eggs-pedition Pass". This pass grants players daily additional bonuses and access to a special research line, meaning those who pick it up will have some additional reasons to play throughout January.
The Eggs-pedition Pass
- The Eggs-pedition Access ticket will be available on January 1, and will remain available until January 29.
- Players will have until January 31, at 8:00 p.m. local time to enjoy all bonuses and finish the research line.
- The ticket costs $5.00, or equivalent local pricing.
- Ticket bonuses for the duration include the following:
- A single-use Incubator from the first Pokestop/Gym spin each day
- 3x XP for the first catch of the day
- 3x XP for the first Pokestop or Gym spin of the day
- Open up to 50 Gifts per day
- Receive up to 50 Gifts per day
- Hold up to 40 Gifts in the player's item bag
- A Timed Research line will also be available that rewards the following:
- XP
- Stardust
- A Togetic encounter
Is the Eggs-Pedition Pass Worth It?
....okay, that's the last time that I'm saying "eggs-pedition pass".
So is this ticket worth the purchase price? That depends on your play-style. If you play every day and make a point of completing your Pokestop/Gym 7-day streak and also have the goal of leveling up, then definitely! It's also worth it if you like hatching eggs, as that's up to 30 egg-hatches for $5. However, it's a bit iffy outside of those scenarios. The only confirmed Pokemon encounter is Togetic, which is good and all, but not outstanding for most players. And players that don't play every day may see this as an easy skip, as most of the bonuses are purely from daily play.
All-in-all, it's definitely a great deal, but not necessarily one that every player will want to grab.
