PVE Offensive Moves Explanation

  • Sucker Punch and Dark Pulse are the moves of choice for a Dark moveset
  • Bug Bite and Bug Buzz do the job for Bug Type damage.
  • Counter, Trailblaze, and X-Scissor are all less useful.

PVE Defensive Moves Explanation

  • Counter and X-Scissor have solid synergy and work well together.
  • Sucker Punch isn't the worst option.
  • Trailblaze is another option worth considering.
  • Bug Bite, Bug Buzz and Dark Pulse are less useful on defense.

PVE Overview

Lokix is the early-route regional bug of Paldea, and it looks amazing. It's a robot-ninja-cricket with a sleek, black design, so it has to be good, right?

Nope. Lokix at least has more power than many of its contemporaries, but it's still just an early-route regional bug.

PvP Moveset Explanation

Counter + X-Scissor and Dark Pulse

Counter is a top tier move even though it lacks STAB on Lokix. Both of the STAB Fast Attack options aren't great. Bug Bite offers more damage while Sucker Punch has slightly more energy generation.

X-Scissor is Lokix's cheapest option and benefits from STAB. Dark Pulse lets it punish Ghost- and Steel-type Pokemon and provides general coverage. Bug Buzz has no place on Lokix's moveset due to its high cost. Trailblaze is alright and can surprise some Water or Rock-type Pokemon, but giving up either STAB Charged Attacks is a tough sacrifice.

PvP Rating Explanation

Great League: 2.5 / 5

Lokix makes a name for itself in the main series thanks to Tinted Lens and First Impression; the former makes it nearly impossible to resist Lokix's STAB combination, while the latter gives it incredible revenge killing utility. Unfortunately, none of these exist in Pokemon GO, and Lokix didn't quite end up with good moves in this game. Lokix fans are looking at the wrong game if they want to see it succeed.

The addition of Counter in its movepool may allow Lokix to shine in certain cups, but in the open Great League, its weaknesses are too exploitable.

Ultra League: 2.5 / 5

XL Lokix does actually hit the Ultra League CP cap, but it does not fix its glaring weaknesses.

Master League: 0 / 5

There may be a content creator or two who might be looking for some unique content; Lokix might end up being in it. Don't expect anything.
