Niantic has officially announced a brand new set of details in regards to the upcoming Go Fest 2020, including our Ultra Unlocks for the event! This announcement has some big news and a few very interesting events to look forward to, so let's get into it!
Go Fest 2020
Basic Information
- The event will feature 5 themed habitats, which will rotate each hour. Each habitat will include unique spawns, so it will allow players to plan out their day a bit based on what they want to target and not have to spend the entire day playing if they don't want to.
- Go Fest bonuses and events will only be available to players Lv.10 and above
- Incense will be more effective, attracting more Pokemon than usual
- New Go Fest 2020 Avatar items
The event will also host a Virtual Team Lounge, and will have a pre-event live-feed with an opening Keynote by Niantic CEO, John Hanke. This will begin on Friday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. PDT.
Ultra Unlocks
The main feature of every previous Go Fest has been the Ultra Unlocks; special events or features unlocked when a specific number of tasks have been completed. Go Fest 2020 is no different in this regard.

- These challenges will be viewable in the new Global Challenges Arena
- Every eight challenges completed will award us with one Ultra Unlock, to the maximum of 3!

Update from Niantic
Niantic Support has updated the data for this event, and posted the following tweet:
Trainers, Bouffalant will hatch from 5km Eggs, not 7km as earlier stated in the blog. We'd also like to clarify that Normal Forme Deoxys will be featured as a part of the Ultra Unlock if Enigma Week is successfully unlocked.
