Way back in 2016, Nintendo and Gamefreak released the original Detective Pikachu game for the 3ds. This game eventually spawned its very own movie, but then it sort of fell off of the face of the earth beyond a few bits-and-pieces like a Pokemon Go tie-in. Well, it seems that the detective is back, as Nintendo has announced Detective Pikachu Returns, and naturally we get our very own tie-in for the upcoming game once again.

- Pikachu will be available in a Detective Hat, and will be able to evolve into Raichu with a Detective hat.
- 1x XP for spinning Pokestops
- Once per day, it will be possible to take a snapshot and get a photobomb with Detective Hat Pikachu
- An Event-Themed Collection Challenge will be available
- Event-themed Timed Research will be available
- An avatar pose inspired by Detective Pikachu will be available in the shop
- A selection of event-themed Pokemon willl spawn more frequently in the wild
- A selection of event-themed Pokemon will be available via Field Research Tasks
