Snorlax ... yes a rare (not) power up question

I have 3 highlevel snorlax's in Gyms.
31 10 14 15 39/45 (86.7%) Zen EQ 2888 CP
31 13 14 13 40/45 (88.9%) Zen Legacy BS 2886 CP
30 14 12 15 41/45 (91.1%) Zen EQ
2829 CP

All are I could save candies for them for next time those level 10 towers fall they are in. But they are pretty stable and been in there for weeks. All of them could be powered up multiple times. And Gym levels are slowly creeping up, but they generally are in the 3-5 range.

I've recently hatched 2 more snorlax as well and have 49 candy burning a hole in my pocket. Here would be the options

26 2 1 1 4/45 (8.9%) Zen/ Legacy BS (man the move is nice but the IVs are horrible)

20 14 13 15 42/45 (93.3%) Lick/Hyper
20 11 11 15 37/45 (82.2%) Zen/Metal Slam

I would likely use more as a defender. Although Lick/Hyper would be a decent attacker. And while I am in no real rush as I am in a ton of gyms

I will probably wait at least until Easter Announcement in case its lower power up costs.

So for first time in a long long time, I'm torn between keeping the candy or spending it.

What would you do in this boat?

I only got one ZH / BS lax but it was at such a low level and IV (less than 10% at lv. 8) I transferred it for candy during event.

Since you already have one with that set I wouldn't bother with a second if it's that crappy. The HS one will do fine as a defender and keep the L/HB for an attacker if you like HB.

I would wait a bit more then pull the trigger on HS as defender

What is the CP of the level 26 legacy BS mon? Even though his IVs are terrible he would still be a major pain in the ass if you got him to 2800. Since he is already level 26 I would be tempted to take him to about 2900.

Second option would be the Heavy Slam one.

I wouldn't bother powering up the lick/HB one. Unless you are desperate for an attacker. I find I never use my L/HB Snorlax as an attacker. Always a better option it seems.

I would just wait in your shoes...

You said you have enough gyms to get 100/day anyways so maxing more Snorlax is not needed and Snorlax candy is a lot more rare than say Rhyhorn which nests.

288x+ CP is decent, but with gym creep and as people keep leveling, CP will only go up I feel...

I just pushed one of my Rhydon's over 3000CP and have enough candy to probably do the rest of them and his CP is very close to Snorlax.

Snorlax candy is also more rare so I'd save them to push my existing Snorlaxes higher than to spread out more since you have enough defenders already.

This is similar to my belief of having only 2 maxed out Blisseys even though I still have 150+ candies left and some 90%+ Chancey's if I wanted to evolve. You really only need 10-12 quality defenders in stagnant gym areas and safer to save your candies to power up Snorlax higher.

If gyms change, it will be nicer to have more options too...

Depending on the order of the IVs:

Lv26 2s/1a/1d is 2197cp with 219hp, maxed to Lv39 is 2916cp with 252hp.

Lv26 2a/1d/1s is 2205cp with 218hp, maxed to Lv39 is 2926cp with 251hp.

By the time you get to level 38 and can spend that 166,000 stardust and 184 candy, a lot more players in your area will probably be placing 3000+cp pokemon in gyms.

It is a nice moveset, but it is probably just not worth the investment unfortunately. If you can't bring yourself to transfer it, justify it by telling yourself you are saving it to trade for a bad IV Dragonite with Dragon Breath/Dragon Claw. :)

I don't understand why people want to throw away great mons - Snorlax, Dragonite - with great, leagacy moves because of low IVs. My 38% DB/DC Dragonite is an awesome attacker! She has excellent base stats, are IVs really that important for an attacker?
