Pretty boring

I don't what you guys are doing but for me the game is getting boring...I played a lot for the beginning of gen2 but there just aren't enough new competitive mons. I'm missing the Starter evolutions and Ampharos, but at least for the starters I don't see the point of chasing them since they are so weak. So I'm essentially waiting for 10km eggs to get me snorlax or blissey candy to max out a second one of each of those and going after Larvitar. That's essentially it. What are you guys doing or going after. I'm lvl 33, haven't played for a month and sit at 40 plus mons at lvl 31,5 plus.

I guess that's kind of where I'm at too. I only really care about hatching Lapras, Snorlax, Chansey, Dratini, or Larvitar now. I would like a decent Machamp too but I've given up on the hope of it. I'm no longer excited hatching or evolving Machops. Other stuff is OKtoo but doesn't really move the needle.

I really wish that they made out of biome spawns a super rare occurance. My real problem is the chances of me catching something interesting now is abysmally low to the point it feels like a chore. It's not helped by this broken tracker either.

the tracker is complete BS for anyone outside of a major center. My guess is that most of niantics employees live in San fran never go outside of it and live their entire life in "safe spaces" so that they don't hear that something they are doing could be done better.

and yep machop evolution's break your heart, there should be some way to earn a chosen move-set.

I live in a rural region with a near small town. The tracker works ok for me. I know the spawning points, and i rarely miss a pokemon on the tracker.

Everyone plays different.

Right now I'm having an awesome time playing building up a good army against Blissey and Snorlax. I got the opportunity to get out of NYC for about a week and head south.

Needless to say, Heracross spawns here like Pidgeys. Everyones looking at me weird because I get excited everytime one pops up but they don't understand back in NY the gym meta is maxed out Snorlax, Blissey, gyrados, dragonite and tyranitar. Having the opportunity to knock out the bulky tanks is joyful enough for me :)

I used to spend an hour travelling to and attacking/prestiging a cluster of five gyms. I no longer do so due to Blissey towers. The nerf to SGPokeMap means I am less likely to encounter other trainers while nest farming.

Does anyone else think the Gen 1 gym meta was more diverse and interesting? Lapras, Slowbro, Poliwrath, Venusaur, even Omastar and Wigglytuff...

A wannebe-cheater cannot cheat anymore, neither does he meet his cheeting collegues... makes me cry a bit - not.

All these Gen1-pokemon are still available. No one will hinder you to use them. They still serve perfect as prestigers and attackers. - Agreed for gym defense, the big 7 gym defenders are getting a bit boring.

I do not need an answer, as the following question is rhetorical.
What do you think, why does niantic fight poke-maps since the very beginning? May somehow fairness among all players be a concern?

Niantic provides the game, and they define the rules. You have broken those rules repeating, and are angry that they hinder you to go on breaking their rules. You should be glad they still allow you playing their game and don't hinder you to compete with your cheated pokemon in those gyms that are provided for fair players.

In my area, all competitive trainers use SGPokeMap and freely share the link with others (negating fairness issues). The result is a fantastic community and a lively gym meta where spoofers struggle to make any impact. If Niantic further crack down on SGPokeMap, they can look forward to an island where nobody would buy coins (horrible exchange rate) or even play (except very casual players, who were driven away once stops could not be spinned on public transport).

If its a fantastic community, they can easily play together independend on the cheating tool.
Yes if all players cheat, it is somehow fair, now cheating is not possible anymore and it is still fair.

(except very casual players, who were driven away once stops could not be spinned on public transport).

I am asking myself, if i play the same game. The game i play is called pokemon go. Go is an asian board game, a programming language and a synonym for "walk". I decided for myself, that the "walking" part could be ment here. This does mean to put one feet in front of the other, alternating. If a pokemon appears on the tracker, look for it and catch it. I go out, sometimes on feet, sometimes per bike, and move using my own muscular power. This makes a great impact on my physical constitution.

For me, it does not mean getting a message where a rare-high-iv-pokemon has spawned and drive there by car as fast as possible. It does not mean to go by bus and spin one pokestop every 10 seconds.

I really only have like 11 pokemon left to get dex wise (not counting regionals) since i'm still trying to get them with good ivs but no luck especially since a few don't hatch from eggs (by that I mean hoppip and chinchou) and thats been my only driving force to continue playing.

Wait for events, they're all that's worth playing now. Water and Easter events were pretty good for me and once they ended I took a break.

Only thing left for me that I actively wanna do is get an Unown. But the possibility of that seems very remote so I think I will resign myself to not having one.

Start a 2nd account of whatever is your area's weakest team, and try to build them up!

Nmd, lol, against TOS!

When I initially started playing I expected (high hopes in hindsight) that this game would incorporate PvP and trading shortly after release. I have been grinding since. To be frank I think and have thought the gym system is terrible. I do not gain much pleasure from tapping aimless on the screen. "But you can swipe to dodge!" Cool. The gym defenders don't switch out, barely any mental power is required compared to the main series. I wanted to apply my knowledge gained from the main series and the strategems I have learned on Pokémon showdown to this game, but this game does not allow for that. I keep playing, hoping...

Just went out on a whim.Checked the app in a new part of town. Bam shiny magikarp. That makes number 3. Poop IVs but hey who cares. Moments like that make the game more than fun!

I'm also losing my will to grind. I need 4 candy for my Ampharos. After that, I need Jumpluff and I'm done with the non-regional dex. I want to max out my DT/H Dragonite, but I'm no longer spending $ on incubators. I take my daily walk, but I just use the plus, don't pay attention to any catches.

I hatched a L/HB Snolrlax the other day and barely cracked a smile.

I feel like I've been grinding to prepare for something awesome that may never come. That and I'm losing hope that Niantec has the ability or will to deal with the rampant spoofers/botters.

I no longer feel frustration. I've reached the point of apathy.

Time to take a break, i assume?

Yeah, I'm burning out on the game as well. And I have only played since february. Some things that would get me excited again:

  • Better eggs!!
  • Release gen 3
  • Get rid of spoofers and bots.
  • Some sort of super limited TM's.

Better eggs!!

No. Better eggs means better pokemon for all. There are many good pokemon out there, if i would have all perfect movesets on all competitive pokemon, what would i play for?

Release gen 3

Gen2 was released only 3 month ago. How many gens per year do you need? For me, two per year is ok, not more please.

Get rid of spoofers and bots.

Yes, please. And get rid of maps.

Some sort of super limited TM's.

Whatever this appreviation means.

I am having a blast right now. Moved to a small town to continue my doctorate. Going to lab from 10 to 6 and ride my bicycle around the small city from 6 to almost 9. There are several instinct gyms around me and I can get coins for at least 60 per day. Playing Pokémon really becomes an incentive for me to stay outside. Idaho is crazy beautiful so I am really enjoying the bike ride everyday. Besides, you feel so purposeful everytime you get one Chansey or Snorlax candy. When you got a 10KM egg, you can wait to ride more so it can be hatched soon.
Also, I am trying to improve my gym battle skills like learning to dodge and play with type advantage.
I guess playing Pokémon does make my life more interesting.

beyond the dailies, this game isn't worth playing anymore. actually, the dailies don't even make it worth playing...i just don't want my streak to end.
