Which legacy Lax to power up?

Both have that big boy Body Slam. Would you go economical (20.5k in savings) with lower IV/higher lvl or the opposite?

2222 CP 84IV LVL 23.5 15/12/11
(Cost to lvl 31.5 - 70,500 for 2,908 CP)

or

1904 CP 91IV LVL 20.0 15/14/12
(Cost to lvl 31.5 - 91,000 for 2,927 CP)

Such a great moveset, such great IVs. But 20.5k is a big chunk of change. I'm torn.

I'd say power up #2, just because that moveset and that IV spread is a beaut on defense.

2, 100%

You can earn that stardust back in 1-2 days, and will have the IVs forever.

How many hours a day are you playing to earn 35k stardust a day?

I was referring to the difference between the 2 investments, so only 20.5k and I said 1-2 days.

Even then that is a lot of Star Dust. Each Pokemon caught is 100 and lets say all you catch in a day is first evolution you would need to catch 205 pokemon that is a lot in just one day.

Gym scene is agreed by most to be pretty trash. Besides raiding, catching stuff for stardust is the best use of time to me. In a few hours 10k stardust is easy. You have to factor in about 1k stardust on average per 5km walked as well, so that lessens your totals by ~20 captures, depending on what you catch/hatch while you're out.

idk man, if it takes some players 3-5 days I'd still say it's worth it to invest in the 91, and that was the main point.

Edit: I did not downvote.

Not at all. You can get stardust from Gyms, Eggs, First catch of the day, ect. If its your 7 day that's 3k.... 20K stardust is nothing.

i guess 20k isnt much considering the total amount i'd be shelling out. But does the +2 Def and +1 Stam make that much of a difference?

The increased Defense values will shift breakpoints for other players' attackers into your Snorlax by a couple levels depending on the matchup. So, depending on how much you value IVs it's worth some stardust, but not a ton IMO.

Since the difference in investment is only 20.5k stardust and considering the rarity of Snorlax and especially a legacy one with BS, I'd say it's worth it in this scenario.

If you have a blissey don't power up a snorlax.

Blissey tanks twice as much as snorlax in a raid (although the offense sucks) and for defense you'll be spending half as much golden razzberries to troll the attacker.

Speaking of this I have an attacking and a defensive snorlax and blissey but I almost never use the snorlax after I used a blissey, it's always the second choice (E.g if someone already placed a blissey)

Don't waste the Stardust until there is a change to the Gym structure that makes it more useful to have strong Snorlax as gym defenders again. Use that Stardust to power up attackers.

Seriously, you only need to hold a gym for 9 hours - a CP 2222 Snorlax is awesome for that. Even the 1904 is good for it. That should be enough to dissuade the filthy casuals (like me) from taking down your gym before 9 hours is up.

As an Attacker... erm... Snorlax is sort of weak. He's not TERRIBLE, but so many others are much better at attacking. Again, use the stardust to power up attackers for now, and if the gyms are rebalanced again to make defenders actually important (like the idea that putting a Snorlax on a gym becomes great again). Hell, these days I toss Porygon2's and Wobbuffet on Gyms more often than my Blissey's and Snorlax, particularly when I want to entice players to take my gyms so I get my coins.

Yes. This. No big benefit from powering up Snorlax or Blissey right now.

And I think when they "fixed" the "bug" that caused 3000+ pokemon to lose motivation faster, they actually just moved the dividing line down somewhere around 2000+. Try putting #2 in a gym before powering up to test.

What about beyond level 31.5?
Are you level 30? You'll level up soon. A Snorlax with BS is really a good defender, I wish I had one, even if gym are too easy now.
Look up the numbers for level 35. A 3150(?) CP Snorlax may deter some players and be hard to beat for players below level 30.

Since lax is rather a vanity now, I'll definitely go with 91% one.

I have enough attackers already. I'm powering it up for personal reasons. Snorlax is one of my favorite mons since I was a kid and has a moveset that I used quite a bit last summer before i took a break from Go. Now that I'm back with a truck load of rare candy and unused dust thats been collecting dust and not returning any interest anyway, I owe it to myself to give my fav mon a bit of a boost.

That sounds reasonable then.

Go with the slightly lower level with higher IVs. The difference in power up cost is minimal compared with the rest of the cost to go even further.
