Hypno or alakazam?

I know that Hypno deals less damage than Alakazam however he has really high defence.

Yesterday i used some really low cp ones on a machamp raid. The machamp was using counter dynamic punch and we ate a couple hits.

In terms of survivablity isn't Hypno better than Alakazam for these things? Or do you all prefer dps than survivablity?

Alakazam.

All the Hypnos in the world won't get you through solo.

So Machamp or find a friend with a bunch of Alakazams then use Blissey.

Surely you didnt solo Machamp with Hypno...
Going in a group, sure, I guess I'll use a hypno, and save my Zams for another day, but soloing, NOPE

Even in a group he's a mathematically poor option. At least from a dust expenditure standpoint.

OP, do you have any Eggys? Waaaay better.

In all honesty, i would bring my level 30 Hypno in a group, but not 1st, 2nd, 3rd... and he most likely wouldnt even do battle. I wouldnt know though, the only group battle I've been in, since the start, was a Magikarp ?

No i didn't beat him lol. I couldn't Hypno does alot less damage so you are right

The squad should consist of Zams, Espeons, Eggs (psychic, no grass... maybe SoB), and Dragons (hurricane preferred).

Me, plus a 27 and a 28 beat it in about 60secs this morning with all of the above. Walk another espeon if your dragonites aren't ideal and you are concerned about the durability of too many Alakazams, or if you lack strong psychic exeggutors

I think Hypno with double Psychic is at least better than an Alakazam with a non-Psychic charge move, especially the ineffective Focus Blast... Alakazam dies so quickly you can fire just 2 charge moves if lucky.

You can lose a whole team of glass cannons when soloing against a Machamp with 50 seconds remaining on the clock!

I get off 3 or so full bar charge moves even with a hell charge on the raid boss. Even with a different charge move Hypno just can't keep up.

Getting another Zam up there. I know, low IVs, but that legacy moveset should
do some damage to The Champ.

That moveset is OK against machamp
I use it everytime i soloed machamp as 1st or 2nd glass cannon..
Hasn't meet a Dyna Punch Machamp yet, but that Zam is doing fine against Close Combat's or Heavy Slam's one

Dodging is not easy when it is 33ºC outside, the phone starts to lag and the Boss fires Heavy Slam, Dark Pulse or Shadow Ball frequently and almost before the warnings appear, like the Machamp and Weezing I tried.
I fired Confusions and I wanted to dodge, but it continued with what it was doing.

Frequently? Man, sometimes i think there is no way you already have another _______ charged, you just spammed 3 in a row...

Yeah, i tend to lead in with "Supreme counter" glass cannons, then have the bulkier "good counters" finish the job. Helps with the lag that occurs during the second half of the battle

Confusion is tough at times. It's why I preach on PC here for this purpose if it's an option even though the damage of confusion is incredible.

My PC Zam has Shadow Ball... and with TMs dropping like crazy ? He is in the back of the line for a switch, especially with the chance of Focus Blast. But then again, i really only need quick TMs, because I have been playing for so long, I have every mons charged move, but most dont have the best quick move. And thats the key, only two options with quick.
Would you PC a DG Zam or a FS Zam? I'm thinking FS, because of the necessary dodging involved in getting a full bar

Yes. If you're running into trouble on the tougher movesets against a Champ. He's that extra insurance that has me no longer even thinking about what moveset he has. Then the tanks come in and it's hard to lose.(Dragonite with H or C/SoB Eggy)

Well they can't be much worse Brantley is a good QB that may pull them into relavence. We will see.

Hypno's failure as a great battler is a sore spot for me. He was a favorite of mine in the original game.

Of course, I also deferred to my Alakazam in the bigger battles.
