Could you guys give me some thoughts on this:
I got 3 gyarados, IV 88, 91 and 93, levels 28, 24 and 22.
The moveset aren't great, but ok: bite/outrage, bite/crunch, dragontail/crunch.
The question is, would you use candy to evolve another one or to power those up? (I have almost 400 candies)

tricky, an unlucky mix of moves, levels and IV's there. if you listed the iv's, levels & moves in order i'd probably ignore the middle one with b/c as that's useless attack or defence, and hold on to the other two but try evolving a new one for hydropump first (since you have the candy)

I'd probably power up the 93IV one with Dragontail and Crunch if you are looking for a defender. Crunch comes often and hits pretty hard. I find it is a pain to dodge.

Agree with this. I powered mine with same moveset to 3000CP and it holds its own pretty good.

I faced one of these today, and it was definitely a pain, so I'd vote for powering up the DT/Crunch.

Bite Outrage is a passable dragonite counter. Some people vouch for DT/Outrage but Bite/Outrage isn't too far behind and you can dodge better. Against Blissey, it's also one of the 'acceptable moves' list.

(FYI, you can just about take down a 3k Blissey with a level 30 Bite Outrage Gyarados. By that I mean with literally 2 seconds remaining, I tried)

Are you serious? So you're telling me my level 22, 88.9% IV Gyarados w/ Bite/Outrage is good for something? He was just sitting in my storage because I was too busy powering up my DT/HP Gyarados instead. I'm going to have to look for a Blissey tomorrow. I gotta see this for myself.

It's definitely behind B/HP and DT/HP, but I'm not sure if it is any different from DT/OR by significant margin.

If you go on pogomoves.com and enter this gyarados (B/OR) you will see it has 89.65% the attacking power of the DT/HP Gyarados (and by extension also the B/HP gyarados). Not too bad.

And your B/OR at level 22 is useless as it is, unless you get it to level 30, then it can do some damage. However, I would definitely pick it behind my DT/HP and my two B/HP. It's your call if you want to power the B/OR, but mine started at level 27 so it wasn't too hard of an investment to make for me to get mine to level 30.

PS That Blissey fight wasn't exactly fair either, I started the fight with a dying gyarados who started the battle with a hydro pump then I swapped in the B/OR. The Blissey was some 3k with suboptimal moveset like ZH/Hyper beam. However, the B/OR did manage to win in the end, only dodging hyper beam.

Yeah, I have other Pokemon I'm focusing on powering up first. I did manage to get that DT/HP Gyarados to level 30. I do have candy to get my level 22 Gyarados to level 30, but don't have the stardust. My only focus now is getting my Alakazam to level 30. Love using him against psychic attacking Blisseys. Maybe after I get Alakazam to level 30, I'll get that Gyarados to level 30. Who knows? I'm always flip flopping.

As far as that Blissey fight, I figured something had to give.

Agree with Dt/C for defense and B/O for offense.

Basically Dt/anything is good for defense. Every other fast move drops off a lot for damage.

B/O is good against Dragonite, and makes for a decent back up against Vaporeon and Snorlax.

I would try to get another one because cp my not count so much in gyms after the rework so any mons with 2x weakness I wouldnt recomend powering them up until after the rework
